Why you eat more in winter
From late fall to early spring we all eat more. Because we don’t have enough physical activity, this is a perfect recipe for gaining weight! It is still unknown, do we eat more during winter because it is our animal instincts, so we build up energy reserves or because we have more fatty foods available. One study found that your brain is producing hormones that makes you happy, when you consume high-fat and high-calorie food. If you have a greater desire for cookies, pasta and other cards, during winter, you may have Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD. This isn’t something serious, and it will pass when spring comes.
During winter you should eat salmon, because it is rich with omega 3 fatty acids. They have a positive effect on your mental state! But, you cannot resist to all those cookies and delicious pasta and cheese. You can have them occasionally, but, add a few vegetables for fiber and vitamins. If you want a desert, you should try a cup of warm dark chocolate. It is known that warm drinks make you feel less lonely and happier! Besides, warm, dark chocolate reduces chances of heart diseases and raise levels of ‘’good’’ cholesterol.
According to the latest study, food made from persons you love taste better, so you will eat more! So, during the winter your grandmother, sister or someone else from your family, who you love, will make you some cake or some fatty food meal. This means that you will eat more of it. The solution is to maintain your proper diet during winter. Of course, you cannot avoid all food that is around you during the holy days, but you can eat a bit less!
